A TRIBUTE TO Mylah
Mylah’s MISSION was created in honor of my beloved daughter, Mylah.
Our mission is to uplift, support, and empower young girls through mentorship, confidence-building, and faith-based guidance. We provide a safe space for girls to be seen, heard, and nurtured into their full potential—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This mission is deeply personal and reflects the heart and hope I carry forward in Mylah’s name.
Mylah's
STORY
Mylah was a dancer from the age of three, a majorette with unstoppable rhythm, and a gifted athlete on her track team. But beyond her talents, Mylah was joy in human form—funny, kind, and full of light. Her laugh could fill a room, and if you met her once, you likely found a friend for life.
Surrounded by love and friendship, Mylah brought so much beauty into the world. But behind her smile, she carried silent pain. On October 28, 2022, Mylah died by suicide.
This mission exists to honor Mylah's life—not just how it ended, but how she lived. Through her story, we remind young people they are seen, loved, and never alone.

The Heart Behind the Mission
Mylah’s MISSION was born out of both deep grief and deep love. I am committed to transforming the pain of loss into hope, healing, and support for others — especially young people who may be silently suffering.

About
Marla O'Hara
Founder of Mylah’s MISSION | Suicide Survivor Mom | Mental Health First Aider
My name is Marla O’Hara, and I am a mother, a mental health advocate, and the heart behind Mylah’s MISSION.
On October 28, 2022, my life changed forever. I became a suicide survivor mom — losing my daughter, Mylah, to suicide. She was radiant, creative, full of light — and silently struggling. That devastating loss broke me, but it also birthed something powerful. In the midst of unspeakable grief, I made a decision:
Her story wouldn’t end here.
I am the mother of two daughters — one I hold in my heart, and one I continue to raise in love. I’ve learned to carry my grief with grace, holding space for both sorrow and healing. Through prayer, faith, and support, I’ve discovered how to transform pain into purpose.
As a certified Mental Health First Aider, I now dedicate my life to helping other young girls know their worth and walk boldly in their purpose — before life tries to tell them otherwise.
That mission lives through our signature program, Beautiful Me — a workshop designed to build confidence, identity, and resilience in today’s youth. This is more than a nonprofit — it’s a movement to light up dark places, honor Mylah’s memory, and remind every girl: You are seen. You are loved. You matter.
One scripture has carried me through:
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”
— Psalm 34:19 (KJV)
God continues to carry me — and through this mission, I will carry others.
Mylah’s light still shines. And through Mylah’s MISSION, her legacy lives on.

You are not
ALONE
Let’s make space for honesty.
Let’s normalize not being okay.
Let’s point people to hope — to help — and to healing.
And above all, when no one picks up,
When the darkness feels too heavy,
Remember,
God is near to the brokenhearted. He sees you.
He loves you. He’s not done with you yet.
This is what mental health is.
It’s not just a trend — it’s a fight.
A fight for truth.
A fight for healing.
A fight for life.
In memory of Mylah and for every soul still fighting, We see you. You are not alone.

It's ok to ask for help.
